We are looking for someone with an appetite to work in a growing division within Bidfood and fully understand the importance of customer relations and continual uninterrupted supply of products. The Imports Production Planner/Inventory Controller will manage the end to end supply chain, forecasting, ordering and inventory of multiple product categories in multiple locations.

Your ability to deliver top quality results while working under pressure, and your ability to manage your time and work to deadlines will set you up well for this role. Your interpersonal skills when dealing with internal and external parties will ensure that product stock holdings are balanced and delivered on time. You will be reporting to and working with the National Imports Manager to deliver top quality service.

The environment you will be working in is professional, fast-paced and dynamic, with plenty of room for growth. Our ideal candidate will have a Tertiary qualification with 2+ year’s direct procurement ideally in an importing environment. 

The role will include

  • Preparation and management of weekly/monthly production plans for 200+ individual sku’s
  • Working closely with our Category team and DC personnel on forecasting
  • Ordering of bulk product
  • Ordering and maintaining stock levels of packaging materials
  • Liaising with and managing local and overseas suppliers
  • Cost and margin management
  • Maintaining and managing vendor and product files

Requirements of this role are 

  • Excellent organizational and time management skills – oral and written
  • Strong and effective communicator
  • High attention to detail
  • Understanding of inventory control and production planning
  • Unflappable and a good problem solver
  • Experience in a similar role
  • Experience with Microsoft Office 2010
  • Advanced knowledge of Excel including v-lookup’s
  • Ability to multi-task and meet tight deadlines
